Introduction to Coaching in Leadership

Overview

Coaching enables a person to reach their full potential utilising their own knowledge and skills. In working with team members, a leader utilising coaching style is able to support the team member to reach a better understanding of their situation and help them identify action they can take to move the situation forward. This session will help managers understand what coaching is and offer them the fundamental building blocks of having coaching conversations in the workplace.

• The key steps in developing an effective coaching relationship
• Elements of effective listening
• Elements of effective questioning
• The power and use of language
